Greg was introduced to the world of urban music marketing and promotions at the ripe old age of 14 by one of the pioneers of hip hop concerts in upstate New York, Ron  Cunningham.The early '90s saw Greg take his marketing and DJ skills as a local mobile/club DJ to a higher level while assisting local concert promoters and writing for the Buffalo Challenger Newspaper serving as their Urban Music Editor. During his tenure as a writer, Burke also made several guest appearences on 91.3 WBNY in Buffalo, NY on various mixshows spinning the best in Hip Hop and R&B.

In 1992 Greg was hired by Houston-based powerhouse label Rap-a-Lot as their regional Promotions and Marketing Rep in Upstate NY and Southern Ontario Canada which helped them gain radio, retail, street and print media presence during their prime years of existence. Greg's work with Rap-A-Lot helped pave the way for other southern hip-hop artists to receive national attention in the northeast U.S. During that same time period he served as the National Director of Promotions and Marketing and managed artist for Toronto, Canada based Groove-A-Lot Records. Groove-A-Lot artists Ghetto Concept won back-to-back Juno Awards (the Canadian music equivalent of a Grammy) in 1994 and 1995 during Greg's tenure.

After taking a break from the Music Business during the late 90's , Greg worked as a consultant for Public Educational and Government Television. In 2001 Shocksound Promotions promotions was created to assist up and coming artist and labels become visible and accomplish there goals in the radio, online/print media arena.

Projects that Shocksound Promotions played a part in breaking include Sean Price (Monkey Barz, Jesus Price Supastar), NYOIL (Hood Treason), 9th Wonder & Buckshot (Chemistry, The Formula), Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother (Delightful Bars), The Kidd Rizz (Who's Your Daddy?) and the Grammy nominated single Classic   by Nas, Kanye West, Rakim and KRS-One.
